This event is aimed at further exposing the industrial and manufacturing sector to the community. Attendees are comprised of State and Federal elected officials, as well as other local community stakeholders and media outlets located here in Central Oregon.

DESCRIPTION: There will be approximately 40-60 attendees touring 4 different Redmond Traded Sector companies. Participants will be divided into two groups, alternating tours of each company. The event concludes with a luncheon and networking session at Central Oregon Community College Tech Ed Center – Community Room (upstairs). Time will be designated at the luncheon for tour discussion regarding observations and education, as well as a Q & A period.

Through fun and engaging hands-on activities, this event provides students and community members an opportunity to understand and learn about the world of making things, and how these activities relate to the region’s robust manufacturing sector. This initiative is part of a coordinated regional Manufacturing Day effort that includes workforce investment boards, community colleges, and the school-to-work consortium.
